Join
us at the IInd Malagasy Primatological Society Congress
December 15-20 • Mahajanga, Madagascar
Following the success of the first Malagasy Primatological Society
Congress, GERP Madagascar is organizing the second Congress in collaboration
with the University of Mahajanga. The Malagasy Primatological Society Congress
is recognized as an important global meeting for Malagasy and International primatologists
to present and share their experiences. The topic
of the Congress 2020 is “Can Lemurs
be a key element for the development of Madagascar”. The congress features a
dynamic scientific program with cutting edge symposia, workshops, round table
and posters; discussion panels with renowned primatologists,
representatives from government, private sector, conservation NGOs, local
communities and civil society; mangrove restoration with communities; countless networking opportunities for future collaboration to inspire lemur researchers.
The Venue of the Congress will be in Majunga, Madagascar (the details will
be communicated soon). Madagascar
with its huge biological and cultural diversity is a remarkable island. It is
well known for its unique lemur diversity found nowhere else in the world. We welcome you warmly on the island where forests, animals, weather and
people are amazing.
The
congress aims to provide a fruitful experience through the creation of opportunities
for primatologists to present and share their experiences on lemur and
conservation aspects, to update the information on lemurs, to help drive the
conservation programme in Madagascar and to improve decision-making in
conservation.
